Dr. Leigh Vinocur Affirms Desiree Jennings Has Psychogenic

Irving

Please note that the basis of this report is from Rene Najera at the examiner.com. Please click here to read the original article and for more detailed information. Youtube videos of a former NFL Washington Redskins cheerleader who allegedly acquired dystonia from a flu vaccine has been making the rounds online. The cheerleader, Desiree Jennings, says that symptoms of dystonia started appearing shortly after taking the flu vaccine.

Dr. Leigh Vinocur completed her undergraduate coursework at the University of Michigan where she graduated with high honors. She subsequently earned an M.D. at Wayne State University in Detroit where she also completed post-graduate training, including an internship in general surgery and in urology and a residency in emergency medicine. She is licensed to practice medicine in the State of Maryland.

Dr. Vinocur has received numerous awards including the Medical Award from the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence and the prestigious Emergency Medical Award from the American College of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Leigh Vinocur is currently employed as an emergency medicine doctor from the University of Maryland Medical System offered an alternative cause to Ms. Jennings’ syndrome. Dr. Vinocur stated that there have been no cases of dystonia associated with the flu vaccine and that neurology experts at the University of Maryland were using Ms. Jennings’ case to teach neurology residents about psychogenic dystonia.

Dystonia is a movement disorder that causes the muscles to contract and spasm involuntarily. The neurological mechanism that makes muscles relax when they are not in use does not function properly. Opposing muscles often contract simultaneously as if they are “competing” for control of a body part. The involuntary muscle contractions force the body into repetitive and often twisting movements as well as awkward, irregular postures.  Dystonia affects people of all ages and backgrounds. Dystonia is a neurological disorder where twitches and other repetitive, involuntary reactions occur. Normally, these repetitive actions do not let up.  On the video, Ms. Jennings’ symptoms subside at times. According to Dr. Vinocur, neurologists saw the video and were convinced it was psychogenic.

Psychogenic disorders originate in the mind or in mental or emotional processes; having a psychological rather than a physiological origin. This does not mean that a person is faking their symptoms. Rather, it means that the person truly believes that the symptoms are real. However, there is no physiological reason for the symptoms. It truly is all in their head.  Psychotherapy or some medications to treat the mental issues can help deal with psychogenic disorders.

Dr. Leigh Vincour says that Ms. Jennings’ story that she acquired flu from the flu vaccine is a scientific impossiblity. The flu virus in the injected vaccine is dead, inactive. In the solution being injected, the virus has no cells in which to live and reproduce. Viruses are, by definition, obligate intracellular parasites. They need cells to live, grow, and reproduce. There has been no recorded case of acquired flu from the flu shot vaccine.

Judge Slams The Brakes On Dr. Christopher Thomas Thompson

Irving

Dr. Christopher Thomas Thompson, an emergency room doctor who spent more than twenty years working at Beverly Hospital in Montebello, has been found guilty of deliberately slamming on his brakes, sending two cyclists into the back of his car.

A Los Angeles Superior Court jury on Monday found Dr. Thompson guilty of assaulting cyclists by abruptly stopping his car in front of them on a hilly Los Angeles County road last year.

He was found guilty on two counts of reckless driving, two counts of battery, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of mayhem and could face as much as five years in prison.

Ron Peterson, one of the cyclists, testified that Thompson drove past him and a fellow bicyclist on a narrow stretch of Mandeville Canyon Road in Brentwood, honked his horn and yelled at them to “ride single-file.”

Peterson testified that he yelled an expletive at Thompson. That’s when Thompson swerved in front of the bikers and hit the brakes, Peterson testified.

This Letter to the Editor, written by Doctor Jones about health care in America, is from the August 29th edition of Jackson, Mississippi’s newspaper, the Clarion Ledger.

Dear Sirs:

During my last night’s shift in the ER, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient with a shiny new gold tooth, multiple elaborate tattoos, a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and a new cellular telephone equipped with her favorite R&B; tune for a ring tone.

Glancing over the chart, one could not help noticing her payer status: Medicaid.

She smokes more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day and, somehow, still has money to buy beer. And our President expects me to pay for this woman’s health care?

Our nation’s health care crisis is not a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. It is a crisis of culture – a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on vices while refusing to take care of one’s self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance.

A culture that thinks I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me.

Life is really not that hard. Most of us reap what we sow.

Starner Jones, MD
Jackson, MS

According to Vitals.com, Dr. Cowden specializes in emergency medicine and has been practicing for 49 years.  Over the years he has had sanctions in Florida and Tennessee. In 1998 he had the following sanction:

Agreed Order of probation for 5 years: practice limited to no surgery; provide drug screens for 2 years; Physicians Health Program advocacy

Engaging in the practice of medicine when mentally or physically unable to safely do so

The initial investigation began in July based on a Crime Stoppers tip from Metro Nashville Police and expanded to include the excessive number of prescriptions written for Schedule II and III narcotics, including Xanax, Lortab and Soma. The allegation charges that on certain mornings the same people lined up outside the clinic before it opened to receive the drugs.
