“Pharmaceutical suicide” the pharmacist called it. The order had come in five days after Smith’s 20-year-old son, Daniel, died in the Bahamas. A pharmacist told Anna Nicole Smith’s internist that the drugs he had prescribed to the model after her son died were “pharmaceutical suicide,” and refused to fill the prescriptions.

According to unsealed documents written by state officials and obtained by the Los Angeles Times Monday, Smith’s doctors were warned about prescription drugs by three pharmacists.

The investigation focuses on the role that Smith’s doctors, psychiatrist Dr. Khristine Eroshevich and internist Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, had in her overdose death in February 2007. Both of these doctors are being charged with ignoring obvious dangers in providing an array of powerful and addictive drugs to a woman with a history of substance abuse.

Dr. Khristine Eroshevich, whose name was on all 11 meds found in Smith’s room, had written scripts for two sedatives, 300 tablets of methadone, a muscle relaxer, an anti-inflammatory drug and four bottles of a painkiller nicknamed ‘hospital heroin’ the Times reports.

The physicians have pleaded not guilty to conspiring to illegally provide her with controlled substances. The recently unsealed affidavits also cite evidence that both physicians had sexual contact with their famous patient.
