Skin Cancer Risk Across the U.S.

It’s a fact: Skin cancer rates are rising around the world. That may sound surprising, knowing that we are now more educated than past generations about the harm UV rays can cause to our bodies. But, even with increased education, the prevalence of sunburns continues to go up. Barely one third of Americans wear sunscreen when going outdoors. We took a look across the country to see which states are doing the best (and the worst) at reducing sunburn rates and keeping skin cancer rates steady. You may be surprised by what we found out.
