Congratulations to Calliope H., the winner of our Fitbit giveaway!

In preparation for our panel on digital health at Internet Week, we ran a contest to give away a free fitbit! Vitals followers submitted their favorite #HealthHacks on Facebook, and we published about 13 of our own (you can find them at the end of this article). From analog to digital, you told us your favorite health tricks and devices. Then we told you ours.

Here’s how you’re taking care of your health in 2014…

I don’t own a car so I have to walk everywhere – Our Fitbit winner, Calliope H.

I use SleepBot. It’s really helpful. When you aren’t sleeping well, it helps you pinpoint things you can change during the day that might be messing with your sleep. – Patience P.

I use my cell phone to store my workouts and track my miles I walk. – Jamie L.

Every chance I get I try to take three stories of stairs. – Holly B.

I use Noom, it helps me track calories – LaTrinidy S.

I park in the back of the parking lot! – Amy G.

A friend invited me to join a secret fitness group on Facebook … Seeing workout posts from people, some 70+ pounds heavier than me, motivates me to move … One month [our moderator] challenged us to post a video of a work out, even if we felt silly. It’s a really supportive group and encourages women of all fitness levels to do SOMETHING each day. – Jodi K.

Runtastic Heart Rate Pro for iPhone – Jamie L.

Getting enough sleep. – Marina B.

I am in weight loss support groups, I track my food and always push myself a little more each day! – Ashlee C.

I love my Preva app on my phone which connects to the cardio machines at my gym to sync and track my activities. Its a good motivator to reach new goals. – Angela P.

Mapmyrun and Nike+. I’m training for my first half marathon in September. –  Melissa T.

I love my Fitbit One. I try to make sure I get in my steps everyday. – Tammy J.

My #healthhack is taking my kids for a walk everyday (weather providing), and always taking the stairs! – Mandee H.

Old school: my #healthhack is being outside and … biking to work – Sarah M.

My favorite #healthhack is my pain diary and Med Reminder! So helpful with my chronic illness! – Helen H.

One glass of water when I wake up and before every meal – Abbey G.

My new and only #healthhack is this Nike app that tracks my miles when I run or bike it out. – Peter P.

My favorite #healthhack is MyFitnessPal – Danielle T.

Thank you again to everyone who entered our contest and posted a #healthhack! We loved reading them. Here are some of our personal picks. You can also see the complete gallery on Pinterest.
