Everyone knows that Jennifer Hudson went from a size 16 to a size 6 with the help of Weight Watchers. But on an episode of the Dr. Oz show that aired today, she shared the personal philosophy that she says was just as important as her diet regimen.
When asked her secret to losing the weight, Hudson told Dr. Oz:
“(It was) making up my mind to want to do it. Knowing that this is what I want to do and going for it.”
Hudson went on to explain the importance of not letting others’ opinions influence your decision to embark on a weight loss journey.
“It’s about what you want for you and what you can do for yourself.”
Dr. Oz agreed that you can’t do it to make someone else happy, and added that losing weight isn’t the key to personal happiness either. He said:
“A lot of people try to lose weight to become happy. I think that’s the wrong way to go about it. You’ve got to be happy, and then you’ll lose weight.”
