Saturday, April 28th is the 4th annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
The aim of this initiative is to encourage the proper disposal of expired or unused prescription medications. Improperly discarded medications often end up in the hands of children and drug abusers, as well as in our waterways, contaminating our drinking water.
Last year’s Take-Back Day brought in over 377,000 pounds of unwanted or expired medications.
