US Senator from Utah, Orrin Hatch, spoke at Heritage Foundation about what he envisions happening to ObamaCare and the health care system if President Obama will be reelected for another term.
“If President Obama is reelected within a year or two he’ll throw his hands in the air and say, ‘it’s not working we have to go to a single payer system.”
What are your predictions?

YES! The single payer system is the way to go. It’s much more efficient and equitable and universal than our current hodgepodge of private insurance. For once, I hope Orrin Hatch is right. I just wish we didn’t have to wait until after President Barack Obama is reelected. It’s too bad we don’t have a congress that’s interested in improving health care sooner.

It is not Obama Care, it is not health care, it is Medical Corporate Care. And that is why it will fail and why we need single payer, Medicare for all. Medicare is Constitutionally sound and approved by the vast majority of care givers and receivers. Let’s improve it and get everyone covered by it.

I pity the young people of this country if we DON’T admit that we are all paying for everybody already, create a single risk pool, finance it publicly and start making difficult decision with the goal of getting far better value and health for our health care dollars than we are today.
Call it single payer if you want. Call it socialism if you must… but just like police protection, education, fire protection… it’s civilized. We can no longer treat health care like a commodity. The myth that “competition” will drive down health care costs has legs that defy reality. Really.

I see a single payer system being more cost efficient and more doctor friendly than our current system that is driven by lobby money driven by a competitive industry. Health Care should not be subjected to these influences. Health care to a nation should be a right.of every citizen to be assured of health care from birth to death. Universal Health care should not be a divider but an objective of all Americans.

I’ll believe it when I see it.

I needed a good laugh and got it. To hear him sound so mortified at an idea that makes me deliriously happy says it all. I hope he’s right!
