In a recent Harvard research study that followed 14,000 women and their drinking habits, it was concluded that a daily moderate alcohol intake is healthy for aging women.
Dr. Qi Sun, the leading researcher explains that 10-20% of women in the study experienced an improvement in their overall health.
“These data suggest that regular, moderate consumption of alcohol at midlife may be related to a modest increase in overall health status among women who survive to older ages.
“The 2010 US Department of Agriculture dietary guidelines note that moderate alcohol consumption of up to one drink per day for women and up to two drinks per day for men may provide health benefits in some people. Our data support this recommendation.”
So enjoy that glass of wine with dinner. Cheers, to your health!
