27-year-old British singer, Amy Winehouse, was found dead on arrival in her London home. Although the cause of her untimely death is still undetermined, Winehouse was rumored to have gone back to her self-destructing habits of the past.
Amy Winehouse, was not only known for her soul-jazzy-rock style of singing, but also the drug and alcohol addiction that is so synonymous with that career. However, Amy has made several attempts at cleaning up her act, to gain control over her addiction and continue to produce amazing, world-wide hits.
According to Dr. Robert R. Perkinson, the clinical director of Keystone Treatment Center, “25% of Americans die because of substance abuse, and the average alcoholic dies twenty-six years earlier than he or she would otherwise.”
