45 years of medical experience, and now facing up to 20 years of jail time and $1 million fine for distributing large quantities of prescription medication.

Dr. James Tinnell, a General Practitioner in Las Vegas, is being charged with 12 counts of distributing highly addictive medication, such as Percocet, Hydrocodone, Xanax and Soma. He was in the spotlight previously in 2005, for a case that involved his prescribing excessive medical marijuana to a patient suffering with bipolarity and schizophrenia.

With almost one month to retiring or expiring his licensce, Dr. James Tinnell had a clean record up to this point.

8 News NOW learned he has a clean and active license with the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners. His license was issued in 1974 and is set to expire at the end of June. The medical board says it can’t touch Dr. Tinnell’s license unless he’s convicted of a crime. (8newsnow.com)

According to Vitals, Dr. James Tinnell has all positive patient ratings with only a ten minute wait-time at his practice.
