Misty Lake, 32, of Covington, Kentucky was rushed to University Hospital after being severely wounded with a sword. The attacker was Dr. Douglas Rank, attempting to stab the young woman again before he was found by the witness.
“I heard some screaming — it’s the kind of screaming you don’t ignore — (and) I ran upstairs,” said the witness Doug Hamilton.
“He said, ‘Four quarts low on the truck,’” Hamilton who knows both Lake and Dr. Rank said. “I’m only giving you what I’ve got; that’s what he said.”
“He tried to stab down at her when I yelled at him to stop,” Hamilton said. “Then I got him focused on me when I yelled at him, then he said, ‘I’ll kill you too,’ and I said, ‘Now we don’t want that.’”
Dr. Rank, who had almost lost his medical license previously, is now being charged with first-degree assault in a continuing investigation.
According to Vitals.com, Dr. Douglas Rank is a board certified psychiatrist and finished a top ranking Baylor College of Medicine for his medical degree.
He was so nice to me, Doug was not a Dr.of mine. I would have never thought of him to be Four quarts low on the truck.
