Somer Thomson was kidnapped while on her way home from school and a massive search was held until her lifeless body was found among 225 tons of garbage.

A preliminary autopsy was performed and confirmed her identity as the 7-year-old Florida girl that went missing on Monday, while walking home with her twin brother and older sister. Additional details of the autopsy have not been released yet but will be instrumental in steering investigation in the right direction of who is involved in her homicide.

Somer Thomson’s family is mourning the loss of their daughter:

“I don’t think they deserve to live,” said Diena Thomson, Somer’s mother.

Julie Andrews, in 1997, was left unable to sing after “a botched surgery operation to remove nodules in her throat.” Since 2000, Andrews has been working with her voice coach Dr. Steven Zeitels and MIT Professor Robert Langer to figure out a cure to regain her singing voice.

“The Sound of Music” legend is now undergoing major surgery that will involve ‘injecting man-made tissue into her larynx,” in order to restore the elasticity the vocal cords once had. The research shows that after two years, it is believed she will be able to sing again.

“So far the animal trials have been promising. It appears safe in animals. We hope we can start a clinical trial on this gel in a year or two. I don’t want to promise we’ll do it on Julie Andrews but she has been a big proponent of it. She has been a great supporter. She came into our office and explained that she cannot hold a note because of scarring,” said Dr. Zeitels
