Two Republic Senators, John Barrasso of Wyoming and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma have turned to a new platform to voice their medical opinions. “Senate Doctors” is a new online show based on the expertise of two doctors who’s views simultaneously come from the government’s side.
According to Vitals.com, Dr. John Barrasso, an orthopedic surgeon is also a former State President of the Wyoming Medical Society, and Dr. Tom Coburn is a family practitioner specializing in obstetrics, has delivered over 4,000 babies.
The senators plan to have guests on their show to discuss policy, as well as the main concerns about national health care.
“We all agree that health care needs reform,” Dr. Barrasso said in a statement. “Having practiced medicine for over two decades in Wyoming, I know that the devil is in the details. It deserves a serious, open, and transparent national debate. ‘Senate Doctors’ will allow more Americans to participate in that discussion.”
Dr. Coburn based the show on his personal experience with being diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 26, then again just recently.
“I have had tremendous experience not only as a physician but also as a patient,” he said.
Barrasso and Coburn will host “Senate Doctors” every Tuesday and Thursday at 4 p.m. EST “to inform you about the latest news on the health care debate and answer your questions.”

Let’s get the Board of Directors of the AMA on the show
and have them do some talking too. This show is long overdue,
the American People need answers and honest answers regarding
there healthcare, the economy, National security, taxes, housing,
foreign trade finally there are Republican Senators willing to
bring these issues to the people and get some solutions and
someone who will take action and correct the mess. Respectfully,

Hi, I always felt that the AMA or doctors association should form a corporation, maybe a non-profit and be a health care insurance provider. There certainly is no need to have an extra layer of profit for people who’re handing money from patient to doctor and taking their large cut. Insurance companies incentive is not necessarily in the best interest of thier client (patient) or the doctor. I used to sell cars for a living and our service department is a perfect model for preventive medicine. Regular period checkups so you can nip problems in the bud before they get too far out of hand.
