Men and women all over America are keeping a secret hidden under their berets and baseball caps.  According to Dr. Matt Leavitt, more than 50% of people have experienced some sort of hair loss by age fifty, and 30% are seeing recession by age 30.

Men suffer from hair loss more than women. Still it is less socially acceptable for females and often severely affects their emotional well-being and quality of life. Leavitt has recently seen an increase in women patients who in the past felt tenative about getting help.

Winner of the 2002 Golden Hair Follicle Award, Leavitt is the founder of Medical Hair Restoration with forty locations all over the country. He also happens to be a tried and true Medical Hair Restoration patient.

According to Vitals, Dr. Leavitt received his medical degree at Michigan State University and completed his dermatology training at Ohio University/Grandview Medical Center. He is a presidential advisor and trustee for the North American Academy of Cosmetic and Restorative Surgery.

Leavitt stresses the importance of becoming as well educated as possible before choosing any hair procedure. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of all the different alternatives with a specialist and then create a game plan. As for hair loss products he suggests “Using Rogaine 5% with Propecia works well; every little bit adds a little bit.”

Dr. Leavitt feels optimistic about the future of hair loss treatment:

“I believe that there’ll be shampoos that work better than anything we have now. I also think lasers will be developed where we can actually do a computerized image of the existing hair, create a plan on the computer and the computer will go ahead and tell the laser what to do.”

With the many advances in hair restoration, it’s time to come out from under your hat and throw it up in the air!
